The Two Year Anniversary

Jan and I celebrate everyday since my "one breath from death" experience in 2005. God made us realize that life was short and could be gone at anytime so we need to make the most of each moment. 

God  continues to heal me and help me recover. The progress has been slow and steady over the past year. My body is still recovering from the effects of the medications that were used to shock my body back from being so sick as well as from the sickness and the adventures in which I passed. But I have to continue to remind myself  that I am coming back from being "one breth from death." It was the last breath I took when Doctor Derek Linderman inserted the chest tube and saved my life. It was God working through the great staff at University Hospital in Denver and the National Jewish Medical Center also in Denver that not only helped me recover from the collapsed lung the touch and go days in ICU but also to find what was the real ailment and direct me to what would help me recover. Of course, my doctor, Richard Feibelman has been there for me from the start and I thank God for him.

My next big adventure is taking care of unfinished business. I was set to participate in the 2005 Ironman AZ race but was ICU at the time. I am thankful to my friends Lincoln Murdoch and Scott Bennefield who led the Iron Prayer service before the event and had many people praying for me. Well, now I'm ready to participate in the race I missed in 2005. Lord willing I'll be racing on Sunday, April 15 in Ironman AZ in Tempe, AZ. You can follow my progress live on www.ironman.com. I am not going for record times since I know I'm not racing for that. My goal is to finish and to proclaim, "look what God can do." 

I was one breath from death and if He can do this for me, think of what He can do for you.
