It’s not exactly a setback but I’m caught in the middle of tapering some of my medications that are helping my breathing and have some long lasting side effects. My progress in the breathing is being stalled by the severe muscle weakness which is causing my stomach to swell. The muscle weakness, of course, has shown up in my legs and arms but particularly in my gut. The problem in the gut keeps me from deep breathing which I need in the healing and recovery process. So I am caught in the middle of the long term side effects and the road of progress. My doctors and I are hoping that the side effects will subside as we continue to taper the medication causing the problem.

Meanwhile, I am continuing to train as much as my body will allow me. I kind of went crazy last Saturday and rode my bicycle for 4.5 hours, thanking God for a beautiful day and some quiet roads.

In spite of the "set back" or lack of progress from being caught in the middle, I have much for which to be thankful, including the encouragement we receive from friends, family, and the Winter Park Church / Child Development Center.

[4] He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us.
