KEEP SCROLLING DOWN, PLEASE

June 23, 2005 UPDATE – TRUCKLOADS OF BLESSING

I continue to marvel at how God is blessing my life everyday in the continuing healing process and changes in my life. It seems the more I recognize the things God is doing, the more He does. What a wonderful experience of growth and appreciation!

Psalm 66:5 Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he does for his people!

Jan and I enjoyed a wonderful "get away" to Marco Island. She found a room at the Radisson Resort at a discount rate. When I considered what she went through in Denver, I was willing to fulfill her desire to spend a few days at the beach for our anniversary but God provided even more than we expected. Somehow our discounted rate gave us one of the best "suites" on the top floor of the hotel. God provided a great view.

When we went to the beach and rented the umbrella and two chairs, we even received a discount and the choice of space. Not only that, a couple approached us and gave us an ice chest full of water bottles and ice. They said they were flying home and couldn’t take it with them. God provided!

We didn’t’ know when we booked the room that this was the "off season" so the beach was not crowded for walks and enjoyment but the calm ocean was so beautiful that we thanked God everyday for this experience.

The sunsets were more "God moments" where we saw His hand paint the sky with His greatness.

Psalm 19:1 The heavens tell of the glory of God.
The skies display his marvelous craftsmanship.

Winter Park Church has been so supportive and God is blessing us more every Sunday with a growing congregation. Even though I continue to preach while sitting, I am enjoying being the "new pastor."

Exercise is important to my "comeback" and even though I have to keep reminding myself that I am not "training" but "rebuilding" – I continue to push it a bit and stand amazed at what God does. I was riding my bicycle on Tuesday to Fort Christmas and back (25 miles) and I was able to stand up and climb for the first time and I even was able to shift into my big chain ring and gear up. I thanked God for both experiences because it was just eleven weeks ago that I was "one breath from death" and for days after that I never thought I would ride again, let alone "gear up." God has blessed me.

We have begun a Wednesday morning running group with Seth Proctor and Bruce Penn who run with me to encourage me. While I walk & run based upon my heart rate and oxygen saturation level, they stick with me and encourage, and coach me. Although I am not doing it for time, I have dropped ten minutes off my 5K time with their help. God is so good!

Jan and I are looking forward to running with many friends in the Watermelon 5K. The Track Shack has been so good to us. It was a great experience for me to work there, be involved in the 5 & Dime training program, and connect with so many athletes in the area. We are so blessed to have so many friends and we are looking forward to celebrating another step in my "come back" on the fourth of July.

There seems to be a growing number of people who are going to run the Disney Marathon with us. Oh, what a celebration that will be. "Look what God can do!"

Godspeed,

Bob, a.k.a "Michelin Man"
