Breath From Death Look What God Can Do
Spring, 2011 Update
Its been six years since I was one breath from death with a
collapsed lung after a lung biopsy that bewildered everyone about the
condition in my lungs. Thankfully, the doctors at National Jewish
Medical Center along with those at University Hospital persevered in
getting me through my recovery from the lung collapse, diagnosed the
disease in my lungs, and sent me home with a treatment plan. God saw me
through the near-death experience by providing some great doctors and
medical personnel for which I am grateful.
Nine months later, my wife (Jan) and I completed
the Disney Marathon as we celebrated Gods goodness in sparing my
life. I went on to complete
five full Ironman races (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run) as
a tribute to what God can do.
Last year, 2010, I completed my 19th Ironman at Ironman FL
in November and began competing in the Sr. Games. This year, I'm focused
on swimming and cycling because my knees are not holding up. But I am
grateful for I was one breath from death in 2005 but look what God can
do!

Breath From Death Look What God Can Do
Spring, 2010 Update
Its been nearly five years since I was one breath from death with a
collapsed lung after a lung biopsy that bewildered everyone about the
condition in my lungs.
Nine months later, my wife (Jan) and I completed
the Disney Marathon as we celebrated Gods goodness in sparing my
life. I went on to complete
four full Ironman races (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run) as
a tribute to what God can do.
Although I took 2009 off from racing, I continued
to train for triathlon with my eyes on the 2010 Ironman Florida
competition in November. In
addition, I plan to compete in a number of small, local swimming and
cycling races. Having just
turned 57, I qualified for the State Senior Games in cycling by placing
in the 10K Individual Time Trial in our local Good Will Games.
Jan and I are preparing for the fourth annual One
Breath From Death Look what God Can Do Century Ride on April 10th.
We will celebrate the gift of life by encouraging the
participants to cycle up to 100 miles!
As Jan and
I look back over the experience of April 2005, we are grateful to God
for sparing my life and for the many great people He put into our lives
as a result of this most traumatic experience.
